A Community Fundraiser and Open Day
A volunteer-led fundraiser where we took only the elements a volunteer team should not carry - power, staging, licensing and safety documentation.
Community events are usually run by people doing it around another job, and the parts that go wrong are rarely the creative ones. This showcase describes an engagement scoped deliberately narrow: the committee ran the day, and we handled what a volunteer team should not be carrying.
That meant staging and power, catering at a scale beyond a domestic kitchen, and the paperwork - licensing, insurance and the risk assessment the venue required before it would confirm.
Costs were itemised so the committee could approve them line by line and account for them afterwards. Two proposed elements were recommended against on the grounds that they would not return their cost, and were dropped.
The volunteer rota stayed with the committee, who knew their own people. We briefed it rather than rewrote it.
